Just upload one picture from you and ZAO’s AI engine swaps your face with those of celebrities in a wide selection of different video clips. The quality of this is just amazing – given you only have one photo to start from. Uploading more shots of your face from different angles improves the result further.

I´ve been writing about how society and legal systems are not yet ready to cope with this so called deep fake videos – the products of powerful deep learning algorithms and computing power. But I have to admit that I underestimated the speed of development myself. If this is the tech used in free apps already, what can we expect from intelligence services?
